Promoting Diversity and Inclusion of Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP)

In my group, I strive to create an inclusive and welcoming training environment for HQP from all backgrounds, gender identities, and ethnicities. In particular, I accommodate and support HQP with specific family needs and members of visible minority groups. Additionally, I allow every student to have a voice by giving them an opportunity to equally contribute at group meetings. I encourage my female HQP to be involved in the Women in Scholarship, Engineering, Science & Technology at the U of A. In recent years, I have trained ten female HQP with three being in under-represented groups.
